Closing out @ West Court tonight with one of my favorite and timeless classic ‘redbook’ hymns of the church. And no one does it better than our friend Johnny Baker / The Melodyaires – our brotherhood goes back to the early 70’s (@TAB and played piano on weekends for The Gospeltones (the pre-Melodyaires years) – and in my opinion he is still one of the best quartet lead vocalists ever. They open most of their concerts with these powerful lyrics written in 1869. Hope it blesses you tonight. Rest well Friends.
‘I love to tell the story of unseen things above:
Of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love.
I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true.
It satisfies my longings as nothing else could do.
I love to tell the story, ’twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love.’ (1869)
