Throwback Thursday to the summer of 1971, a 14 year old PK (well, actually 13 1/2) first learned this chorus while being a summer camp counselor (Cabin #1) and camp pianist @ Camp Joy / Highland Park Baptist Church / Chattanooga, TN for the summer; when I got back to SC, Dad was called to Morningside and we were moving to Greenville–this chorus was a favorite at our youth group gatherings and rallies (Life Friends Butch Howard and Johnny Wise on their guitars…) For some reason today this chorus keeps resonating inside my head today…so I thought I would share with you.
‘I just keep trusting my Lord as I walk along;
I just keep trusting my Lord and He gives a song.
Though the storm clouds darken the sky o’er the heav’nly trail
I just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail.
He’s a faithful friend, such a faithful friend
I can count on Him to the very end.
Though the storm clouds darken the sky o’er the heav’nly trail
I just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail.’
We’ll just keep trusting our Lord, He will never fail, Friends. Never. Prayers for many, love for all a peaceful night rest. #I‘veGotTheJoy
