A retrospective Sunday night–my earliest memories of this song dates back to circa 1964-65 – Dacusville Elementary PTA Talent Show – no mic- started at the piano then center stage acapella for the finale, I sang my heart out that night; and distinctly remember how good it felt seeing my late arriving Dad out of the corner of my eye in the back of the cafeteria/auditorium on his feet applauding his son. In that moment in the life of a PK kiddo – Priceless.
‘Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top that’s where you’ll find me.
Oh, somewhere over the rainbow way up high
And the dream that you dare to
Why, oh why can’t I?’ (1939)
