A nostalgic ‘sleep pockets only’ kind of night here at West Court–a lot on my mind and my heart–thus the ‘sleep pockets’. Stacked some 70’s classic vinyl on the old victrola–including Carole King’s 1971 Tapestry (and a lot of Karen Carpenter and Bread… . And my favorite song from that album–a James Taylor classic.. Remembering Friends who left us this month to COVID–Wanda’s service is Friday; Ben’s at some point next week. Wanda’s rich sultry ‘Hey Baby!’ and Ben’s bellowing ‘Loop!’ – just like C. Dan used to– I loved both of them so much; missing them will be an understatement. Rest well everyone. If you happen to be feeling alone or afraid this night – You DO have a Friend–both in our Jesus and here @ West Court.
‘When you’re down and troubled
And you need some love and care
And nothing, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night.
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running, to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I’ll be there
You’ve got a Friend.’
